Index Disaster, and Some Shows

So I've been getting active again since the summer festival. I jumped back into playing at Hall of Records, rounds 10 & 11, with some new turntable noise techniques.  I lined up some shows, and then death winked at me and I got into an industrial accident. Nothing extra serious, but there was a lot of blood and I got to see my bone while spending the day in the hospital. Coming close to loosing my right index finger, and coming real close to canceling several of my endeavors, I decided to rework some of my current projects so that they work without intensive use of my right hand. With that in mind, this week i will be involved in an installation style performance at fotoeffect. The event is happening on First Thursday at fotoeffect, and will be in conjunction with Kristina Koenig and Vilem.  The show will be from 6-10pm on Thursday, October 6th at the Everett Lofts downtown. Then on October 8th at 8, there will be a house party at my place with performances from several bands, myself, and artwork displayed on the main floor.

Live Recording, and Downloadable Content

The recording of my performance for the noise festival at Westside Welding & Machine is now up on the site. It is a gritty bit of table-top stoner rock that I created with an stringed instrument I built specifically for the show.

Also, all of the tracks on my website are now free to download and are covered by the more sensible creative commons license. If you are interested, just click the respective links at the bottoms of the tracks pages, and you will be taken to soundcloud where you can download any track you wish. Put them on your computer, mobile device or digital music player and listen to them at your leisure, Burn copies, upload torrents, and share them with whomever you like.

Have fun, and enjoy!

Butterflies Remixed

Jasper Nemitz has released a remix of my track, A Safe Place for Butterflies. It sounds absolutely amazing, obliterating the original track and transforming it into a swirling and sputtering atmosphere of drones and glitch!

Hall of Records #9

#8 was my pretty glitch mix for the end of the world. The following Saturday was judgment day after all so I whipped up a dreamy and sleepy mix to jokingly welcome the end! I'm now on to my 9th appearance at Hall of Records' Open Tables. This time I have a texture and drone set with a surprise ending! Come out and enjoy!

New Album!

I have just released my debut album, titled Parhelia! It is a stunning blend of rich textures and spellbinding noise-scapes with the occasional dash of rhythmic syncopation. There is a hand-crafted limited release copy that will be available at shows, but if you are not able to get your hands on one of these, no worries! The album is available online as a digital download via CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon, and will be popping up in various other shops in the weeks to come! Thanks for the support!

Hall of Records #7

#6 was unscheduled and awesome! I played two hour-long sets with random records from the house. It was incredible. If you missed it, come out tonight and see me play an experimental vinyl set for Friday the 13th!

Renset at Hall of Records #3

Played last week, but it was very last minute and I didn't have a chance to post a flier. Thanks Jeff for encouraging my ambient start, hyping my set and packing the place with people. Everyone come out this Friday (Feb 4th). I'm planning a dark and evil set to make your bones rattle and your soul dance!

More Tracks!

I managed to get two more tracks up before the new year. Hope you enjoy them!

To Aggravate a Purist is a piece pitting purist perspectives from classicists and futurists against each other. The classicists would shudder at the thought of the precious classics being tainted while the futurists would be appalled at the idea of their modern futuristic sounds being mingled with the past. I have done both.

The Tromboscillator Session track is part of some recordings that were made in my Berlin apartment by a good friend of mine, Hilary Jeffery, and myself. The sounds were produced using the Tromboscillator which is a device he created that combines trombone and analogue electronics for stunning results. Together we took control of the two respective halves of the system, and duelled with signal modulation.
